About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze financial records for accurate transaction recording, account reconciliation, and asset assessments
- Identify and manage discrepancies in settlements or support obligations
- Trace separate property assets
- Analyze gross cash flow available for child and spousal support and the marital standard of living
- Conduct business valuations
- Apportion real estate and equity compensation, including stock options, restricted stock units, and carried interest
- Prepare declarations for court proceedings
- Account for post-separation transactions and analyze their impact on the community estate
- Prepare deposition questions for financial and party witnesses and assist counsel during depositions
- Assist partners in preparing for settlement conferences
- Prepare work papers and exhibits for court hearings
- Travel to court with partners to gain experience and learn about serving as potential testifying expert witnesses
- Attend and participate in settlement conferences and assist clients in resolving dissolution cases
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field
- CPA designation
- Licensed California Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- At least two to three years of recent audit, accounting, or tax experience at a top-100 public accounting firm
- Exceptional written and oral communication abilities
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and related applications
