About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the technical direction and architecture of a product area aligned with the product roadmap
- Write production code across backend, frontend, and mobile
- Solve complex technical challenges crossing services, applications, or teams
- Make architecture decisions around service boundaries, APIs, contracts, and data flows
- Set standards for code quality, reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and engineering practices
- Identify technical risks and balance speed, maintainability, security, reliability, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Platform/DevOps, Compliance, Risk, Security, and external partners
- Own observability and production health, participate in incidents, and complete follow-up improvements
- Reduce technical debt and knowledge silos
- Help the team adopt AI coding agents, automation, and shared engineering tooling
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years building and running production web systems
- Experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or senior technical owner within an engineering team
- Strong hands-on expertise with PHP/Laravel and React/TypeScript
- Genuine full-stack experience, including backend services and customer-facing frontend applications
- Experience designing APIs, distributed systems, service boundaries, and asynchronous architectures
- Experience owning software end-to-end from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, observability, and production support
- Comfortable working with a second backend language; Go applies here
- Strong understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and production reliability
- Ability to make and clearly explain technical decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Business-level communication fluency in English
