About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage, mentor, and coach a team of Employee Relations Partners
  • Set documentation and process-flow quality standards, oversee caseload distribution, and drive continuous process improvement
  • Lead or oversee complex, high-risk workplace investigations and maintain thorough case-management documentation
  • Partner with Legal to reduce organizational and legal risk
  • Own performance-management casework, including coaching plans, PIPs, disciplinary actions, and exits
  • Translate codes of conduct and other policies into consistent, fair practices across departments
  • Enable managers on performance management, difficult conversations, and structural team changes
  • Track ER metrics and case trends and recommend actions to managers and People Partners/HRBPs
  • Advise senior business leaders on complex personnel decisions
  • Prioritize and resolve employee-relations matters according to risk and complexity
  • Use AI to synthesize case trends, draft documentation, and identify patterns in ER data while protecting sensitive information

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; an advanced degree or JD is a plus
  • 7–10+ years of progressive HR or Employee Relations experience, including direct ownership of ER casework
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a team
  • Deep knowledge of employment law, including EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA
  • Experience conducting employee investigations, including interviewing, assessing facts, documenting findings, and partnering with Legal
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Excellent judgment navigating ambiguity
  • Strong data literacy and ability to use case trends and ER metrics
  • Experience operating in a fast-scaling technology company
  • Comfort with frequent organizational changes and distributed/hybrid team dynamics
  • Active use of AI tools relevant to the role and willingness to develop AI fluency
  • Ability to protect sensitive information and recognize when human judgment is required
