About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and deliver core workstreams across small business banking, including application and identity verification, account linking, funding, payments, cards, servicing, and customer-facing product surfaces
- Own growth and adoption from acquisition through funded, active accounts, with continuous funnel experimentation
- Take responsibility for business outcomes as a true workstream owner
- Serve as the fintech infrastructure and payments expert who untangles complexity and ships durable systems
- Use Gusto's payroll ecosystem to build banking features unique to its position
- Define how banking connects to the Gusto platform and make the account the default funding source for business operations
- Design self-serve experiences that resolve customer friction in-product
- Coordinate daily with Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations
- Partner with external vendors, including partner banks, banking infrastructure providers, and card processors
- Understand small-business cash-flow uncertainty and team-spending dynamics to craft effective product narratives
- Define and own KPIs for account opening, funding, deposit growth, and primacy; use data to prioritize, learn, and iterate
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of product management experience in fintech, banking, or adjacent industries
- Hands-on familiarity with business banking, BaaS platforms, deposit products, or money movement rails
- Bonus for experience with KYB/onboarding flows, ledgering, or partner bank relationships
- Experience taking products from pre-beta to launch in 0→1 environments with limited resources
- Experience running experimentation practices, including hypothesis, test design, readout, and decision-making
- Understanding of the regulatory and operational complexity of banking products
- Ability to partner effectively with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams
- Bias toward action, comfort with ambiguity, and strong ownership
- Deep interest in small businesses and building trusted financial products
