About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide exceptional service to customers
Interact professionally with customers via email and/or phone
Research and resolve payroll tax notices with guidance from experienced team members
Provide clear and concise case documentation
Collaborate with Compliance, Engagement, and Tax Operations teams
Communicate with government agencies to represent Gusto and advocate for customers under supervision
Manage time effectively to meet set goals
Actively use current AI tools in workplace applications
Handle a daily queue of tax notices, update cases, inform customers of changes, and seek assistance on escalated issues
Participate in team meetings and support fellow Tax Resolution Advocates

Requirements

What you’ll need

2-4 years of payroll experience; notice resolution experience is a plus
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Capability to use current AI tools and help shape new AI tool functionality
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to simplify complex topics
Highly organized and proactive in improving processes
High attention to detail, organization, and task management
Ability to retain and apply large amounts of critical information
Reliable, predictable attendance
Secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection when working from an approved non-office location
