About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain, repair, and upgrade Halter’s on-farm hardware infrastructure
  • Diagnose hardware issues and provide feedback to relevant teams
  • Deliver towers and collars and transition between repair, upgrade, and deployment tasks
  • Provide on-site support during farm deployments, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful installations
  • Participate in the global on-call roster for tower-related incidents
  • Collaborate with hardware, product, customer success, and other Halter teams
  • Resolve technical challenges promptly to minimize disruption to farm operations
  • Collect, interpret, and analyse hardware data to optimize processes and support decision-making
  • Develop and manage a maintenance system for the New Zealand market
  • Travel throughout the South Island and across New Zealand as required
  • Support Halter’s mission of transforming New Zealand’s dairy and livestock industry through agri-tech innovation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Practical, hands-on experience with tools, electrical work, construction, networking, or equipment fitting is a must
  • Proactive, go-getter attitude and willingness to tackle challenges independently
  • Practical skills and resourcefulness, including ability to handle a wide range of tasks without specific technical training
  • Ability to manage your own time and complete tasks on schedule
  • Strong collaboration skills across different locations
  • Commitment to high-quality service and infrastructure performance
  • Willingness to travel spontaneously and as planned, including 3–4 days on the road per week and up to 3 nights away from home per week
  • Full, clean driver's licence
  • Agriculture experience is preferred but not mandatory
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand is required by the application form
