About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop an exhaustive understanding of customer business drivers and decision-making motivations
  • Connect Hammerspace and ecosystem technology solutions to measurable customer business outcomes
  • Partner with account managers, specialists, and channel partners to create customer strategies that drive revenue growth and net new business
  • Serve as a technical expert throughout the sales process
  • Showcase the advantages of Hammerspace solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and domain expertise in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive DAS, NAS, and SAN offerings
  • Lead evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations
  • Build and deliver technical product and architecture presentations to customers and prospective accounts
  • Capture requirements and translate customer business needs into innovative solutions
  • Contribute to or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
  • Pursue opportunities for interoperability, functional, and performance testing and validation
  • Promote mutual roadmap and planning exchanges
  • Liaise with product and technical marketing to produce whitepapers and web presentations supporting alliance plans
  • Stay current with competitors and maintain differentiated solution positioning
  • Monitor market trends and competitive landscapes to promote organizational thought leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of pre-sales experience in Data Storage / Data Management
  • Must live in the Southwest, specifically SoCal or Arizona
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience across technology, design, and communications
  • Experience supporting the sale of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts preferred
  • Deep understanding of architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions
  • Experience with NFS required
  • Prior experience targeting new prospects and converting them into clients
  • Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures, including FC, iSCSI, NAS, NFS, OSD, and SAN
  • Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments
  • Experience installing/configuring distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystem architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems
  • Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
  • Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, and GCP is a plus
  • Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures is a plus
  • Familiarity with storage-intensive applications such as structured databases, SQL, and Oracle is highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
