About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Ensure a solid operational foundation for the financial center
- Build client relationships while performing financial transactions, cash control, and client service duties
- Conduct morning operational huddles
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and duty assignments
- Guide associates on teller transactions and reinforce policies and procedures
- Assist with opening and closing the vault, managing the Night Depository, setting up teller stations, balancing teller windows/financial centers, and clearing teller errors and cash items
- Mitigate operational loss by managing cash limits, granting supervisory overrides, placing holds, and resolving outages
- Research and resolve client issues
- Support risk management, dual-control procedures, and the Risk Management Review process
- Operate and maintain knowledge of ATMs, cash recycler machines, currency counters, and coin sorters
- Model sales and service behavior and promote professionalism and lobby management
- Meet with clients and prospects to build relationships, discover financial needs, and tailor product solutions
- Educate clients on self-service, mobile, online, and ATM channels
- Refer clients to specialized business partners
- Process routine and complex transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments
- Drive proactive sales conversations, financial needs assessments, and appointment pipelines
- Ensure operational and financial safety and soundness
- Provide guidance and oversight to the assigned team and coordinate evaluations
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, work assignment, performance management, compensation, expense approvals, and problem resolution
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 years of cash handling and customer service experience in retail or branch banking OR Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of cash handling and customer service experience in retail or branch banking
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and applications, and utilize search tools to find information
- National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008, including initial and ongoing registration requirements and acceptable background investigation results
- Working knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to the banking industry
- Excellent communication skills and ability to tailor product/service features and benefits to clients with differing needs
- Ability to learn products, services, and procedures quickly and accurately
- Comfortable educating others on technology
- Professional, thorough, organized, and strong follow-up skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and proactively collaborate
- Ability to understand and follow policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to work Financial Center hours, including weekends and some evenings
- Ability to travel if required
- Ability to work under stress with competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to read and interpret documents
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 30 pounds, subject to accommodation requirements
