About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist certified clinicians in delivering patient care services under direct supervision
Prepare treatment rooms and patients for clinical procedures
Perform technical fabrication tasks, including making and modifying molds
Execute treatment modifications, adjustments, and repairs as directed by the supervising clinician
Fit and provide soft goods items to patients
Provide alterations and adjustments to soft goods items as needed
Provide orthotics fitting services independently
Assist with selected patient follow-up care under clinician direction
Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation of all patient care provided
Communicate patient information and care outcomes to the supervising clinician
Ensure all patient procedures comply with clinical protocols and standards
Perform shipping, receiving, and inventory monitoring of prosthetic and orthotic materials
Contact and coordinate with vendors to order necessary materials and supplies
Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED required
1 year of experience in a customer service or patient facing role
Preference for allied health professionals (PTA, OTA, Athletic trainer, etc.)
Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures
Willingness to verify all clinical activities with certified clinical personnel
Ability to follow written and verbal directions
Hand skills necessary to use laboratory tools safely and effectively
Knowledge of biomechanical principles
Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for reporting information to patient and staff
Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize and plan for the purpose of meeting deadlines
Ability to work effectively as a team member
Must comply with safety regulations, Medicare and other governmental regulations, blood borne requirements, and OSHA requirements
