About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide operational leadership for Chattanooga manufacturing operations, including Machine Shop, Assembly, and other Production Support functions.
- Execute operational plans contributing to business growth, customer satisfaction, quality objectives, and cost performance.
- Lead daily, weekly, and monthly operating reviews to monitor performance, identify risks, and drive accountability.
- Ensure achievement of KPIs related to safety, quality, productivity, on-time delivery, inventory, and cost performance.
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and optimize resource utilization.
- Establish ownership and accountability for operational results across functional areas.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to remove barriers and improve production performance.
- Build, develop, and coach a high-performing team of managers, supervisors, and team leads.
- Establish a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and employee engagement.
- Conduct talent reviews and development activities; identify and develop high-potential employees.
- Ensure consistent performance management and accountability practices.
- Partner with Human Resources on workforce planning, employee relations, organizational development, and talent acquisition.
- Ensure operations meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Implement manufacturing best practices, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Quality leadership on quality systems, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
- Drive root-cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
- Manage labor plans, departmental spending, and cost improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and improve labor efficiency, overhead absorption, inventory performance, and cost of goods sold.
- Provide input on capacity, staffing, and capital investment requirements.
- Contribute to business cases for capital investments, automation, equipment upgrades, and resource needs.
- Support the Regional Vice President of Operations in executing initiatives and achieving business objectives.
- Lead initiatives improving scalability, operational maturity, and cross-functional alignment.
- Maintain operating rhythms and communication processes to improve decision-making and organizational alignment.
- Contribute to facility planning and operational readiness.
- Promote a safe work environment and culture of safety.
- Oversee facility maintenance, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance programs, and site infrastructure investments.
- Maintain environmental, health, and safety compliance.
- Lead initiatives improving workplace conditions, efficiency, and employee experience.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of progressive experience leading managers and multi-functional operations teams.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a regulated, quality-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven success driving operational performance, employee engagement, and organizational change.
- Experience managing budgets, resource allocation, and operational performance metrics.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Ability to keep the patient at the center of everything that you do, building lifelong trust.
- Ability to foster open collaboration and constructive dialogue with everyone around you.
- Ability to continuously innovate new solutions, influencing and responding to change.
