About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform engineering tasks supporting the complete design of small and large civil engineering projects
- Produce low-complexity design calculations and assignments
- Provide design assistance on larger and more complex assignments
- Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies
- Assist with drafting plans and details for engineering drawings
- Perform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support
- Develop written construction specifications defining scope, instructions, and quality standards
- Perform land development and zoning code research for civil-site development projects
- Work with the discipline lead engineer to identify project scope changes
- Review and check submittal drawings and documentation
- Assist with presentations of Hargrove Engineers & Constructors services
- Provide interoffice execution leadership and support as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required
- Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is strongly preferred and may be required
- Up to 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in civil-site engineering in the industrial setting
- Previous experience in commercial, government, or infrastructure setting may be considered
- Knowledge and application of associated standards (ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, AREMA, NRCS, NFPA, etc.)
- Working knowledge of civil stormwater analysis software including operating and interpreting results
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil3D software is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple commitments
- Ability to work with a team to complete projects
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
