About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead end-to-end proposal development for library system procurements, including ILS/LSP, discovery, digital resource management, and analytics
- Build and refine AI agents to improve efficiency and expand the proposal pipeline
- Develop proposal strategies aligned with functionality, interoperability, accessibility, and total cost of ownership criteria
- Manage timelines, schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional proposal teams
- Review proposals for technical accuracy, completeness, defensibility, gaps, risks, and over-commitments
- Handle prospect follow-up questions and clarification requests after proposal submission
- Support technical questionnaires, security reviews, and requirements clarification
- Maintain and enhance the Loopio knowledge base, including reusable library-technology content, case studies, methodologies, and templates
- Participate in content review cycles and follow knowledge-base governance standards
- Deliver product demonstrations for APAC customers and prospects
- Present occasional product webinars and additional demos, including scripted RFP demos and oral presentations
- Prepare and maintain demo environments, scripts, and datasets
- Write persuasive content covering library workflows, discovery, interoperability, cloud architecture, hosting, security, and data privacy
- Translate technical platform capabilities into outcomes for librarians, faculty, and patrons
- Develop strategic messaging, executive summaries, and value narratives for academic, public, consortia, and K–12 segments
- Partner with Sales, Pre-Sales, Product, Engineering, Implementation, Support, Marketing, and other teams
- Ensure compliance with procurement requirements, mandatory forms, technical matrices, pricing structures, terminology, metadata standards, and accessibility requirements
- Edit and proofread proposal materials
- Integrate competitive intelligence on library platforms and support win/loss reviews
- Customize proposals, track proposal success metrics, and continuously improve proposal processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or related field
- Aptitude in technical writing, preferably in library technology, EdTech, or SaaS platforms serving public sector or education
- Strong understanding of library operations and workflows
- Strong understanding of metadata standards and interoperability
- Strong understanding of cloud-based enterprise software solutions
- Demonstrated experience responding to formal RFPs for public or academic institutions
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn and demonstrate complex software
- Confident presentation skills, with experience leading live product demos or webinars for customer audiences
- Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills
- Based in the Pacific time zone (preferred)
- Ability to deliver APAC demos, occasionally in the late afternoon or evening Pacific time
- Preferred: detailed knowledge of Symphony ILS, BLUEcloud apps, and CloudSource
- Preferred: pre-sales, solutions consulting, or sales engineering experience
- Preferred: experience maintaining content in Loopio or similar proposal content library
- Preferred: experience presenting to customers in the Asia-Pacific region
- Preferred: experience working directly with libraries
- Preferred: familiarity with WCAG and public procurement requirements
- Preferred: knowledge of open access, digital collections, and linked data
