About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and enhance the product governance framework for FCA PROD compliance
  • Provide oversight, challenge and evidential review across the full product lifecycle
  • Oversee new product approval, implementation, launch readiness and distribution strategy
  • Monitor in-life products, product changes, annual product reviews, fair value assessments and closed books
  • Oversee product withdrawal and post-withdrawal close-out
  • Assess evidence supporting product governance decisions
  • Assess and challenge whether products deliver fair value
  • Use MI and KPIs to monitor customer outcomes and identify risks
  • Identify issues, recommend actions, track actions and escalate overdue or ineffective actions
  • Represent the customer voice in product forums and challenge product-related changes
  • Govern outcome-critical customer documentation and policy wording changes
  • Act as Product Governance subject matter expert
  • Provide regulatory guidance to Product, Underwriting, Risk and Compliance teams
  • Work with Compliance on regulatory interpretation, advice and challenge
  • Support alignment between product manufacturers and distributors under FCA expectations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Product governance, product lifecycle oversight or regulated insurance product experience
  • Experience creating and maintaining product documentation
  • Experience conducting product assessments and reviews
  • Understanding of distribution chain impacts on product value
  • Strong ability to interpret MI and identify emerging risks relating to fair value and customer outcomes
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and embed a culture of strong governance
  • Skilled in managing competing priorities with a hands-on approach
  • Strong working knowledge of FCA PROD, ICOBS, Consumer Duty and Pricing Practices requirements
  • Ability to assess product governance submissions for sufficient, appropriate and timely evidence
  • Ability to oversee Annual Product Reviews and Fair Value Assessments
  • Ability to monitor product MI and customer outcome indicators
  • Ability to identify, assess and challenge foreseeable harms and document mitigations, ownership and escalation
  • Ability to oversee and challenge outcome-critical documentation including policy wordings, NTP and IPID
  • Must be able to work in the UK; sponsorship is unavailable
  • Successful applicants undergo credit and criminal record checks
