About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and be accountable for key tax activities and accurate, timely tax compliance
- Support the Head of Tax with commercial and value-added tax advice
- Work with the Head of Tax, business teams, and external advisors on transfer pricing, permanent establishment, controlled foreign companies, financing, and restructuring projects
- Support tax authority enquiries and mitigate tax risks
- Improve and automate tax processes using Workday Financials and Copilot
- Own UK corporate tax returns and payments, Pillar II calculations, R&D tax credits, corporate interest restriction calculations, SAO certification, and other direct tax compliance obligations
- Prepare tax numbers and disclosures for quarterly group reporting and annual statutory accounts
- Deal with auditors on tax queries
- Manage the tax graduate through delegation, review, coaching, and development support
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrable experience in tax advisory projects, tax authority enquiries, tax risk mitigation, tax compliance, tax reporting, and auditor queries
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, including explaining complex tax issues to non-tax professionals
- Ability to analyse and understand data
- Continuous improvement and learning mindset
- Proactive approach to work
- Results-driven and able to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently
- Good knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
