About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with senior leadership on HR strategy and practices
- Support performance management, employee relations, succession planning, inclusion and engagement, change management, and learning and development programs
- Provide strategic guidance on employee relations, talent development and promotion, succession planning, performance management, and learning and development
- Help leaders drive business results, improve working relationships, strengthen morale, and increase productivity and engagement
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct investigations
- Provide performance management guidance to managers, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions
- Develop HR process improvements and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Research federal and state laws and develop, update, and implement compliant policies and procedures
- Review project requests, identify actionable steps, resources, and roadblocks, and communicate with stakeholders
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, correspondence, and employee communications
- Develop standard and ad hoc HR metrics reports, analyze data and trends, and recommend improvements
- Lead project and team meetings, update project logs, facilitate follow-up, and support HR program rollouts
- Conduct annual FLSA tests to determine exemption status
- Assist with developing, implementing, updating, and auditing HR and recruiting processes and documentation
- Develop sourcing relationships and conduct full-cycle recruiting
- Recommend qualified staff candidates to hiring managers
- Report trends in staff candidate availability based on supply and demand
- Liaise between Human Resources and other departments
- Report directly to the Manager of Staff Learning & Development
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4 or more years of relevant work experience in a human resources environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients
- Ability to multitask and appropriately prioritize workload
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Highly analytical, with ability to identify issues and recommend solutions
- Proficiency with advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with HR information systems
- Prior experience using Workday and Smartsheet preferred
- Studies in Human Resources and PHR/SHRM-CP Certification highly desired but not required
- Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time and remain stationary at least 85% of the time
- Must be able to operate computers and office productivity machines regularly
- Occasionally move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs.
- Must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time
- Constant communication and exchange of information with attorneys, clients, and staff
