About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Greet and welcome patients, guests, and visitors
  • Maintain a customer service work environment
  • Address inquiries and requests in a friendly and responsive manner
  • Anticipate patient, guest, and visitor needs and take proactive measures to ensure satisfaction
  • Direct guests to appropriate locations using facility maps or other aids
  • Respond immediately to guest inquiries
  • Provide patient and guest comfort and emotional support as needed
  • Survey the lobby and surrounding area to ensure it is inviting and visitors are assisted
  • Utilize service recovery skills in problem-solving situations
  • Answer phones promptly and courteously
  • Provide clerical and administrative services as needed
  • Collaborate continuously with security personnel to provide a hospitable, welcoming, and safe environment
  • Maintain awareness of visitor restrictions and screen visitors appropriately
  • Greet governmental surveyors and notify the Director and Manager of Governmental Affairs
  • Check mail twice a week and route patient mail appropriately
  • Maintain a professional image, moderate noise level, and neat, orderly front desk
  • Adhere to appropriate attire and maintenance standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year previous customer service experience
  • Ability to address inquiries and requests in a friendly and responsive manner
  • Knowledge of department locations and ability to direct guests using facility maps or other aids
  • Service recovery skills for problem solving
  • Ability to provide clerical and administrative services
  • Ability to screen visitors appropriately and follow current visitor restrictions
  • Ability to wear appropriate attire and maintain a professional image
  • Ability to perform the listed physical demands, including standing, walking, climbing, carrying, pushing/pulling, bending, reaching, keyboard use, and repetitive motion
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs. from floor to waist and 10 lbs. at waist level and above
  • Accurate near vision, far vision, color discrimination, minimal depth perception, and hearing
