About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform clerical tasks supporting diagnostic imaging services
  • Provide radiology support functions according to radiology practice standards
  • Process requests for release of radiology records
  • Access PACS and accurately identify patient studies
  • Print images or burn CDs from PACS
  • Retrieve and fax radiology reports for authorized individuals
  • Serve as first point of contact for visitors and callers
  • Greet and announce visitors and notify appropriate staff
  • Answer and screen telephone calls and take accurate messages
  • Respond to inquiries or refer callers and visitors to department staff
  • Copy records and information and sort and distribute department mail
  • Gather exam information, including insurance information, referrals, and prescriptions
  • Order imaging examinations according to physician orders
  • Ensure accurate documentation of exam information
  • Facilitate multi-study patients between modalities
  • Maintain necessary forms and supplies
  • Facilitate patient movement into and out of the department and coordinate with patient transport

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • No previous experience required
  • Experience in a medical related field with medical terminology and human anatomy coursework preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong organization skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of computers
  • Successful completion of onboarding process and pre-employment physical
  • Annual flu vaccine prior to start date, unless medically or religiously exempt
  • Ability to perform the stated physical demands, including lifting 25 lbs. floor to waist and 10 lbs. waist level and above
  • Accurate near vision, far vision, moderate depth perception, and moderate hearing
