About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review service capabilities and contractor performance to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement
  • Recruit and onboard contractors based on assessments, serving as the primary communication and escalation point
  • Develop and maintain a contractor performance grading system
  • Review audits to ensure compliance with HD Supply standards
  • Educate contractors on quality standards and procedural guidelines
  • Connect contractors and sales teams by communicating service capabilities to sales representatives
  • Manage contractor inquiries regarding project specifications, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations
  • Use QuickBase to assess programming needs for future growth and maintain accurate, integral data
  • Participate in strategy discussions for potential integration with organizational platforms and systems
  • Approve contractors' licenses in QuickBase for permitted services
  • Review scopes of work for compliance with licensing laws
  • Provide backup licensing expertise during project success calls
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
  • Independently determine approaches to solutions
  • May oversee project and assignment completion, including planning, assigning, monitoring, reviewing progress and accuracy, and evaluating results
  • Contribute to employees' professional development without hiring or firing authority

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must reside in Georgia, Texas, California, or Florida
  • 5+ years of experience in multi-family or commercial construction projects as an Electrical or HVAC/Mechanical contractor
  • Work experience and education commensurate with licensing agencies eligibility requirements for obtaining Electrical or HVAC/Mechanical state contractor licenses for organizational use
  • Experience managing contractor licensing, registrations, and regulatory compliance across multiple states and local jurisdictions
  • Strong knowledge of contractor qualification processes, including licensing verification, insurance compliance, onboarding, and performance evaluations
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and maintain networks of qualified contractors supporting renovation, construction, or installation services
  • Proficiency working with compliance tracking systems, databases, and reporting tools such as QuickBase
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, project management, and leadership teams
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline and generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field
  • Certification is required in some areas
  • Willingness/ability to travel overnight 20% to 50% of the time
