About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a point of contact for inventory-related tasks and issues in a distribution center
- Support management by providing guidance and training to inventory control associates
- Coach and train inventory control associates on inventory and count procedures
- Coordinate and prioritize inventory control work
- Record and report inventory adjustments, pallet audits, and discrepancies weekly
- Review cycle counts and track discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy
- Check product quality and communicate quality issues to vendors
- Determine inventory placement based on size, selling volume, and other applicable factors
- Assist with loading damaged merchandise into delivery vehicles using powered and non-powered material handling equipment
- Serve as backup for inventory and general warehouse functions
- Troubleshoot complex support or operational problems
- Train associates, delegate tasks, and review junior associates' work
Requirements
What you’ll need- 18+ years of age
- Able to pass a drug test
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to walk, move, push, and pull product throughout the day
- Willingness to train to operate order/cherry picker, reach, electric pallet jacks, or similar equipment
- Generally 7+ years of experience in area of responsibility
- Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas
- 3+ years of experience working in inventory control gives candidates an edge
- Prior distribution center experience gives candidates an edge
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment gives candidates an edge
- Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes
- Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting
- No travel required
