About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the full life cycle of design engineering, commissioning, energy optimization, sustainability, or engineering/construction projects
  • Maintain superior client experience, colleague engagement and collaboration, and financial sustainability targets
  • Define project scope, work procedures, schedules, budgets, resource planning, client communication plans, and progress billing points
  • Establish liaison networks among HEAPY, clients, architects, and construction managers
  • Collaborate with Practice Director, Operations Manager, and Practice Technical Leader to form project teams and assign responsibilities
  • Submit documents for code compliance review and obtain required permits
  • Conduct project progress review meetings and monitor contract terms, regulatory requirements, delays, costs, resources, equipment, materials, and quality
  • Maintain colleague morale and represent HEAPY culture
  • Ensure accurate and timely progress billing information
  • Meet with client management to resolve issues and obtain final approvals
  • Participate in client feedback and performance improvement processes
  • Maintain client relationships and support business development
  • Report client management activities and opportunities using a CRM system
  • Engage directly in design and provide design oversight and discipline leadership
  • Participate in project costing and bid preparation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Normally requires a 4-year degree in Engineering
  • Typically 6–9 years of experience in design engineering
  • Professional registration is preferred
  • Prior job assignments typically include project engineering and Project Manager I responsibilities
  • Reliable transportation to and from the project
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and all weather conditions
  • Ability to access all areas of the jobsite, including stairs, scaffolding, ladders, and elevation changes
  • Ability to maneuver into kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, and bending positions
  • Ability to move, transport, or position items weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to apply established protocols and practices and follow company and client safety guidelines
  • Ability to gather, organize, and evaluate project information and calculations, including finances and timelines
