About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute company on- and off-premise strategic initiatives throughout Arizona
- Evaluate, implement, and execute programs within brand strategies at field level
- Lead, direct, train, and manage local distributor sales teams
- Provide planned in-market coverage across Arizona, including independent on- and off-premise accounts
- Manage distributors day to day, ensuring adherence to brand policies, distribution objectives, and promotional activity
- Train distributor salespeople, observe competitive market activity, and evaluate distributor execution
- Support the Regional Manager as a direct report
- Spend approximately four days per week in the field and one day per week on planning, reporting, and administration
- Meet with key on- and off-premise accounts to develop working relationships
- Present and leverage brands to increase volume and help distributors attain goals
- Meet with distributor sales representatives and management to maintain brand visibility
- Align with key local events and participate in strategically relevant opportunities, including national initiatives
- Serve as primary contact for distributor sales teams regarding local and national objectives and programs
- Execute product seminars for accounts and distributor sales teams
- Provide National Account Mandate compliance updates
- Monitor customer and consumer trends
- Maintain activity and promotion calendars and manage third-party promotional company activity
- Execute brand training with staff
- Provide monthly market activity reports to the Regional Manager
- Provide market and competitive brand updates to the supervisor
- Review programs and execution updates with distributor management
- Provide feedback on marketing and sales initiatives, including programs, POS, and advertising
- Complete special projects such as verifying pricing and distribution at accounts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or related field
- Five (5) plus years' work-related sales experience in distilled spirits/wine supplier industry
- Analytical skills, including gathering data from a wide variety of sources and presenting it in suitable formats
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services
- Knowledge of marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
- Good managerial and effective presentation skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, use a computer, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
