About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft, review, edit, and negotiate commercial contracts, licensing arrangements, distribution agreements, supply agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other business contracts
- Evaluate contracts, business arrangements, and initiatives and provide opinions to business units and company leadership
- Partner with business units and company leadership to facilitate business objectives while managing legal and enterprise risk
- Identify and mitigate risks
- Provide legal advice to business units and company leadership
- Interpret and evaluate laws, regulations, court decisions, and other legal authorities
- Build relationships with business units and shared services
- Stay current on legal trends impacting the business
- Manage outside counsel within budgets
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris doctorate from an American Bar Association-accredited law school
- 3+ years with in-house or law firm experience
- Active law license in the state of Texas
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Corporate or transactional experience preferred
- Spanish language (read/speak/write) preferred
