About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsibility for the accounting processes of multiple entities and ensuring complete and accurate financial reporting
Management of the entire month-end close process, including general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and consolidation
Preparation and analysis of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses
Leadership of an accounting team and support for employees’ professional and personal development
Continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and structures to increase efficiency
Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal accounting policies
Design and optimization of internal control systems in the areas of financial reporting and accounting
Analysis of variances, financial developments, and key performance indicators, with recommendations for action
Support for budgets and forecasts in close collaboration with management and business functions
Monitoring cash flow and budget variances and providing transparency for financial decision-making
Supporting external audits and coordinating the timely provision of relevant documents and information
Close collaboration with international finance teams, management, and other business areas

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in accounting and finance
Leadership experience or functional management responsibility
Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), ideally complemented by knowledge of IFRS and international accounting standards
Experience in an audit firm or Big Four environment is an advantage
Experience with month-end closing, financial reporting, consolidation, and balance sheet reconciliations
Strong analytical skills and confidence in interpreting complex financial data
Experience optimizing accounting processes and internal control systems
Leadership skills and the ability to motivate employees and support their professional development
Structured, detail-oriented, and reliable working style
Confident communication with a range of stakeholders in an international corporate environment
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Proficiency in modern ERP and accounting systems
Knowledge of Epicor and/or OneStream is an advantage
