About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and develop expertise in branded and specialty pharmaceutical product categories
  • Develop plans to increase sales, market share, and/or profitability
  • Conduct category analysis and develop category strategies
  • Manage supplier profitability and contribution, category maintenance, and new product launches
  • Negotiate supplier distribution agreements with manager direction
  • Determine new supplier and item setups
  • Own category performance activities, including sales and market share analysis
  • Identify underperforming categories and develop sales and market-share programs
  • Provide strategic guidance on brand and private-brand product additions and line extensions
  • Manage new product submissions and review supplier information
  • Determine product acceptance or rejection, pricing, forecasts, and opening order quantities
  • Oversee new item code creation, web attributes, descriptions, and catalog copy
  • Collaborate with suppliers on promotional plans for product launches
  • Determine products and pricing for channel media
  • Negotiate buying deals with suppliers and oversee communication to Inventory Management
  • Review marketing classifications and item descriptions for product-content integrity
  • Accountable for A-system and/or ecommerce classifications, item descriptions, and images
  • Review and approve SKU Optimization recommendations for stocking, non-stocking, and inventory returns
  • Oversee category layouts and presentations across channel media and marketing platforms
  • Resolve channel-marketing issues within established deadlines
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required
  • Provide guidance to associates and specialists

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Typically 7 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of applicable professional experience; first-level manager
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train, lead, and develop a team on processes and procedures

  • Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in a related discipline is preferred; Master's degree or global equivalent is a plus
