About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead supplier partner relationships and plan and develop marketing and sales efforts for assigned product categories
- Develop plans to increase sales, market share, and/or profitability
- Conduct category analysis and strategy development
- Manage supplier profitability and contribution, category maintenance, and new product launches
- Negotiate supplier distribution agreements and review and set up new items
- Develop, review, and approve product recommendations and analyses for senior management
- Serve as the Product Category Expert within the Medical Group/Industry
- Own performance activities for assigned categories, including sales and market share analysis and plans for underperforming categories
- Manage relationships with key manufacturer partners, including partnership programs, sales meetings, price negotiations, end-user offers, and sales representative incentive programs
- Build marketing, advertising, and business plans with manufacturer partners
- Manage new product submissions, acceptance/rejection decisions, pricing, forecasts, opening order quantities, item code creation, web attributes, descriptions, catalog copy, and supplier onboarding
- Develop promotional plans with suppliers for successful product launches
- Determine products and pricing for channel media and marketing platforms
- Negotiate buying deals and oversee communication and implementation with Inventory Management
- Review product classifications, descriptions, images, A-system/ecommerce content, SKU optimization, and non-saleable pool resolution
- Oversee category layouts and presentations across channel media and resolve related issues
- Apply P&L and financial metrics to support business strategy
- Train, lead, develop, and mentor team members
- Participate in special projects and perform other required duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in applicable professional experience
- 1 or more years of management experience
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in a related discipline (preferred education)
- Excellent Excel skills
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office
- Good analytical and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
- Excellent independent decision-making, analysis, and problem-solving skills
