About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the end-to-end supply chain for the MSO manufacturing site, including purchasing and inventory management
- Manage and develop the purchasing team supporting the MSO infrastructure
- Partner with Finance and Operations on production floor planning to maximize machine utilization and absorption while maintaining appropriate inventory levels
- Own ERP system design for supply planning, floor management, and inventory controls
- Serve as the subject matter expert for site data
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing metrics and address performance shifts
- Drive cost savings projects supporting annual profit targets
- Encourage supplier resourcing for upcoming initiatives and projects
- Work with suppliers to determine inventory levels and flexibility models for demand and supply variation
- Evaluate current approaches and propose improvements
- Manage teams responsible for purchasing products to achieve customer satisfaction and company-aligned inventory levels
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems
- Ensure scheduled product availability and acceptable inventory levels
- Review and plan requirements for acceptable inventory levels
- Manage forecast accuracy, excess inventory management, and supplier relationships to maximize profitability
- Partner in developing purchasing team strategies to increase knowledge and productivity
- Collaborate with Marketing and Merchandising on future strategies, sales plans, promotions, supplier agreements, new product introductions, and excess inventory opportunities
- Monitor departmental activity to ensure work is performed and goals are achieved
- Report directly to the Director of Supply Chain
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience or expertise in end-to-end supply chain management
- Experience with purchasing and inventory management
- Ability to manage and develop a purchasing team
- Experience partnering with finance and operations on production floor planning
- ERP system design experience for supply planning, floor management, and inventory controls
- Expertise with manufacturing metrics and performance improvement
- Experience driving cost savings projects and supplier resourcing
- Experience determining supply chain inventory levels and flexibility models with suppliers
- Experience developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and material control systems
- Experience managing forecast accuracy, excess inventory, and supplier relationships
- Experience collaborating with Marketing and Merchandising on sales plans, promotions, supplier agreements, new product introductions, and excess inventory
- Ability to work from home
