About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Grow technical advocacy for HPE storage solutions across the partner community
- Advise top channel partners on positioning, designing and delivering HPE storage and data protection solutions
- Build relationships with partner technical and sales teams
- Enable partner engineers through sessions, workshops, whiteboarding and hands-on labs
- Identify and develop technical champions within partner organizations
- Represent HPE at partner events, tech days and customer-facing briefings
- Assess partner and customer technical needs and current IT infrastructure
- Translate requirements into architected solutions, alternatives and gap analyses
- Deliver presentations and demos connecting HPE capabilities to business outcomes
- Support solution configurations and proofs of concept
- Develop competitive strategies with partners
- Generate, qualify and progress storage opportunities with HPE account teams, channel managers and partners
- Drive technology adoption, upgrades and refreshes across the installed base
- Maintain accurate partner pipeline information
- Ensure smooth handoff from sale to implementation and identify training needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of technical presales experience with a major storage vendor or storage-focused channel partner
- Deep hands-on expertise in pitching, demoing and architecting complex storage solutions
- Knowledge of virtualization, including VMware or KVM-based environments
- Experience with at least two application stacks, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or SAP
- Working knowledge of at least one major public cloud: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Expertise across block, file, backup, ransomware protection and related data lifecycle solutions
- Competitive knowledge of at least one major storage vendor
- Knowledge of channel partner business models and offerings
- Consultative selling skills, including active listening, framing, whiteboarding and storytelling
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of storage industry trends, competitor products and strategies
- Business and financial acumen
- Project management, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools
- Ability to reside within the greater Miami/Southern Florida region
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time
- Storage-related industry certifications strongly preferred
- Public cloud certifications preferred
- Expertise in a major vertical such as financial services, manufacturing or healthcare preferred
