About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as overall account lead and single point of contact for named U.S. Air Force and Space Force accounts
- Develop deep understanding of customer business and IT challenges and requirements
- Drive value for customer programs while maximizing HPE revenue and margin
- Sell networking, security, data center, and wireless solutions
- Grow existing business, develop complex solutions, and identify new business opportunities
- Leverage relationships with customers, partners, and Federal Systems Integrators to expand into new account spaces
- Collaborate with presales account teams, engineers, and the Air Force Regional Manager
- Build growth opportunities through account planning and scheduled reviews
- Work with external partners and systems integrators to deliver solution sales
- Develop business plans with assigned-account customers
- Apply consultative-selling techniques to advance profitable revenue growth
- Build customer loyalty and trust
- Achieve and manage quarterly, half-yearly, and annual quota and/or margin
- Enter opportunities in the pipeline tool and update them weekly
- Implement pipeline management and margin recovery practices
- Match customer requirements with company capabilities and select the appropriate supply chain
Requirements
What you’ll need- University or Bachelor's degree desired; experience can substitute for degree
- Detailed knowledge of key customer types or customers on given products
- 5 years' experience selling to Air Force and/or Space Force customers
- 8 years' overall experience selling in Federal/DoW
- Secret Clearance desired, or ability to obtain clearance
- Good time management skills
- Broad understanding of customer needs and ability to apply standard and creative solutions
- Ability to coordinate multiple internal and external partners
- Customer relationship building at management and executive levels
- Partner organization intelligence and partner management skills
- Relevant knowledge of the client's industry and IT strategic directions
- Knowledge of the company's breadth of solutions
- Ability to translate customer business issues into company solutions
- Ability to prioritize strategic sales activity for complex solutions
