About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide broad technical thought leadership around the HPE portfolio for Tier 1 industry vertical accounts
- Develop innovative and strategic ideas for account teams and customers using Service Provider and High Tech industry knowledge
- Act as a trusted advisor and key influencer on customer strategy and investment decisions
- Build relationships with IT executives, business customers, business units, R&D, partners, and HPE teams
- Proactively co-define and co-create customer solutions ahead of the competition
- Architect end-to-end solutions and provide technical expertise and consultation
- Transform customer environments through interpersonal and project management skills
- Mentor and guide specialty sales, presales, and enterprise architect team members
- Meet or exceed business metrics and customer expectations
- Maintain awareness of manufacturing, services, service provider, and broader vertical-market trends
- Establish and maintain relationships with key ISVs and integrators
- Document and share ideas across accounts while complying with firewall and NDA requirements
- Develop thought leadership presentations and white papers for North America
- Share marketplace and account findings with HPE and the Office of the CTO
- Set and manage expectations to ensure HPE delivers promised outcomes
- Identify, pursue, and win sales opportunities to expand HPE footprint and account revenue
- Identify, qualify, and pursue cross-HPE business unit opportunities
- Manage multiple engagements and projects across the account simultaneously
Requirements
What you’ll need- Four-year undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university
- 15+ years of practical work experience in IT, technology, and solutions creation and selling
- At least 4 years of Tier One Service Provider industry expertise
- Global IT experience preferred
- GSI Consulting experience a plus
- Demonstrated results over an extended period
- Expert domain knowledge across the HPE enterprise portfolio
- Proven results delivering innovative solutions for business and IT challenges
- Ability to effectively position HPE solutions
- Expert knowledge of emerging industry trends
- Ability to establish and maintain credibility with HPE business units and account teams
- Ability to lead development of innovative principles and ideas
- Ability to collaborate effectively with extended team members, partners, and customers
- Ability to architect end-to-end solutions
- Broad understanding of service provider data center inner workings
- Ability to operate in a highly matrixed and complex technical and business environment
- Ability to engage at multiple levels of the customer organization and within HPE
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and projects simultaneously
