About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead integration of SSDs into HPE Primary Storage systems
- Develop and execute qualification tests
- Define and manage joint testing activities with suppliers
- Resolve issues during qualification
- Manage and expand technical relationships with industry suppliers and internal development partners
- Partner with customer support, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to investigate and resolve SSD issues in the field and factory
- Review designs and project activities for compliance with industry standards and HPE Primary Storage requirements
- Provide electrical/electronic hardware leadership and storage-device expertise to cross-organization projects throughout the product lifecycle
- Drive integration of new storage-device technologies into projects
- Develop validation methods for new storage-device features
- Capture and decode NVMe and SAS bus-analyzer traces
- Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience with laboratory testing for SSD and HDD storage devices
- High fluency in Linux, particularly Debian
- In-depth experience capturing and analyzing NVMe and SAS bus traces
- Experience with SerialTek, JDSU, and LeCroy NVMe and SAS analyzers
- Knowledge of T10 SAS Interface Specifications and OCP Data Center SATA/SAS Drive Specification
- Knowledge of NVM Express, NVMe Management Interface, OCP Data Center Drive, and MCTP Base Specifications
- Experience in electronic hardware architecture for products and solutions
- Experience designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms
- Experience with empirical analysis, modeling, and testing methodologies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
- Mastery in English and local language
- Ability to communicate product architectures and negotiate options at senior management levels
