About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales of storage products and solutions in an assigned Western Region territory, industry, or accounts
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for storage and related products
  • Create and drive the storage sales pipeline
  • Seek new opportunities and pursue new business in acquisition and development accounts
  • Collaborate with account pursuit teams, account managers, Presales, channel partners, and other stakeholders
  • Build sales readiness through storage knowledge transfer
  • Maintain pipeline hygiene, account plans, and internal sales tools
  • Assess solution feasibility and determine qualify-in/qualify-out status
  • Negotiate and drive profitable deals through successful closure
  • Establish consultative relationships with clients, including C-level contacts for mid-to-large accounts
  • Position HPE products and services using competitor and industry knowledge
  • Forge channel relationships, enable key technologies, and co-sell to end users
  • Coordinate storage marketing campaigns
  • Serve as a trusted storage solutions consultant
  • Articulate HPE's storage strategy and portfolio to partners and customers
  • Link business and financial benefits to technology offerings and illustrate ROI and TCO advantages
  • Cultivate customer relationships for account retention and growth
  • Orchestrate regional pursuit resources and coordinate external partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of sales experience
  • 5+ years of sales experience to the Federal Government
  • Experience selling to the Department of Energy preferred
  • US citizenship required
  • 2+ years of experience in storage sales
  • Demonstrated achievement of progressively higher quota
  • Experience interfacing with diverse business customers at all levels
  • Extensive vertical industry knowledge
  • University or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Expertise in storage, cloud, solution, or service offerings and competitor offerings
  • Deep knowledge of industry trends and partner/ISV solutions
  • Advanced financial acumen
  • Understanding of program/project management methods and processes
  • Ability to engage and sell to service providers
  • Ability to map partner skills to storage-related opportunities
