About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive growth across State, Local Government, and Education customers throughout New Jersey
  • Develop and execute territory and account strategies for pipeline creation, revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term customer relationships
  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities by engaging customers and connecting business and technology needs to HPE solutions
  • Build and maintain short-, mid-, and long-term sales pipelines
  • Establish and expand relationships with customer stakeholders, influencers, and executive decision-makers
  • Understand customer objectives, technology strategies, challenges, and priorities and translate them into IT opportunities
  • Position HPE products, solutions, and services to address customer requirements and deliver business value
  • Lead complex sales opportunities from initial engagement through closure
  • Coordinate HPE specialists, presales resources, business units, channel partners, and extended account teams
  • Develop business value propositions tied to customers’ strategic priorities and outcomes
  • Build and execute account plans for developing and expanding assigned accounts
  • Develop and leverage the partner ecosystem to expand market coverage and create opportunities
  • Monitor IT industry developments, emerging technologies, competitive dynamics, and public-sector trends
  • Provide accurate pipeline, forecast, opportunity, and account information
  • Serve as a customer advocate within HPE and coordinate internal organizations to support satisfaction and resolve barriers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of sales or account management experience
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals and building new business
  • Enterprise technology sales experience preferred
  • SLED or public-sector sales experience preferred
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and executive-level customer relationships
  • Experience working with channel partners and cross-functional sales teams preferred
  • Reside within or near the assigned New Jersey territory
  • Ability to travel regularly for customer, partner, and business engagements
  • Strong hunter mentality and ability to identify, develop, and convert new opportunities
  • Proven ability to build pipeline and expand business within an assigned territory
  • Strong consultative selling skills
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with customer executives, IT leaders, partners, and stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of complex enterprise sales cycles
  • Ability to orchestrate cross-functional teams and engage specialists, presales resources, business units, and partners
  • Working knowledge of enterprise technology and current IT trends
  • Strong business and financial acumen, communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Strong account and territory planning skills with disciplined pipeline and forecast management
  • Ability to operate independently in a remote, field-based environment while collaborating across a matrixed organization
