About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Architect solutions across hardware, software, services, as-a-service offerings, and third-party components
- Develop and articulate proposals that meet customer business and technical requirements
- Provide technical expertise to sales teams and customers through presentations and demonstrations
- Lead complex proposal design and communicate tangible business value
- Manage customer and company stakeholder expectations and mitigate risk
- Translate business needs into functional and technical solution designs
- Communicate HPE value propositions and align them with customer outcomes
- Monitor technology trends, competitive landscapes, and customer IT needs
- Drive account business planning and manage account pipelines from opportunity to close
- Lead deep-dive discussions with clients and account teams to understand needs and evaluate ecosystems
- Identify technical trade-offs, risks, and remediation options
- Coordinate internal account teams and partners to build solution strategies
- Transfer knowledge to external partners
- Build pipeline through up-selling, cross-selling, and unmet-need opportunities
- Participate in sales forecast meetings and accelerate the sales lifecycle
- Document sales-cycle activities and share best practices
- Engage VPs, CxOs, line-of-business management, and customer thought leaders
- Present at conferences, business events, and through social media
- Share knowledge and develop expertise within the Presales community
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced degree in technology or related field preferred, or equivalent technical qualifications
- 12+ years of technical experience in IT focused on technical consulting and solution selling
- 2+ industry-standard relevant technology certifications or equivalent experience expected
- Enterprise architecture frameworks and project management methodologies/certifications helpful but not required
- Must reside in the greater Texas region
- Ability to travel to customer sites within the designated region regularly
- Mastery of solution configurations, architecture design, demonstrations, and proofs-of-concept
- Expertise in HPE products, software, services, solution domains, and adjacent domains
- Deep knowledge of as-a-service business models and ecosystems
- Ability to communicate in English and applicable local languages as needed
- Executive-level written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills
- Financial and business acumen, including sales cycles, funnel management, KPIs, TCO/ROI, and financial models
- Consultative and value-selling skills, advisory influence, executive gravitas, presenting, storytelling, objection handling, and closing
- Knowledge of technical tools and CRM systems
- Strong resource management skills
- Hands-on experience with multiple products, solutions, tools, or services
- Ability to design and deliver product, solution, tool, or service demonstrations
- Project and time management, analytical, problem-solving, and due diligence skills
