About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as overall account lead and single point of contact for United States Federal Agencies and Departments, Federal System Integrators, and Partner Resellers
- Grow and maintain the Federal lease and finance business
- Hunt for and achieve growth with new clients in assigned accounts and agencies
- Understand client business and IT challenges and align leasing, financing, and asset-management solutions to customer needs
- Maximize company revenue and margin
- Collaborate with HPE Federal sales teams, HP Inc. Federal Sales, and federal partners to source, understand, and close transactions
- Work with Credit, Operations, and Legal to close transactions and oversee continuing customer relationships
- Build growth opportunities through account planning, scheduled reviews, and updates
- Leverage external partners to deliver solution sales
- Develop business plans with customers and partners
- Apply consultative-selling techniques to advance profitable revenue growth
- Build customer loyalty and trust
- Achieve and manage quarterly, half-yearly, and annual quota and/or profit margin
- Enter opportunities into the Salesforce pipeline and update them weekly
- Implement pipeline-management practices and margin-recovery strategies
- Identify customer requirements, match them with company capabilities, and select the appropriate supply chain
Requirements
What you’ll need- University or Bachelor's degree
- Typically 6–12 years of relevant experience
- Industry experience in federal sales, leasing, or public sector sales
- Experience with computers, printers, servers, or storage
- Detailed knowledge of key customer types or customers for assigned products
- Knowledge of federal government financing, federal government agencies, or Federal Acquisition Regulations preferred
- Understanding of leasing/accounting pricing and concepts preferred
- Significant sales experience preferred
- Consultative selling skills
- Leadership and cross-functional expertise
- Time management skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple internal and external partners
- Customer relationship management at management and executive levels
- Advanced sales negotiation and deal-closing skills
- Expertise managing end-to-end sales processes in large deals
- Knowledge of the client’s industry and IT strategic directions
- Knowledge of the company’s breadth of solutions
- Ability to understand customer business issues and translate them into company solutions
- Ability to prioritize and drive strategic sales activity for complex solutions
- Competitive selling skills
- Ability to sell across platforms and specialties
- Travel required: 50% or more
