Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect solutions that achieve customer business outcomes across hardware, software, services, as-a-service offerings, and third-party components
  • Develop and articulate accurate, relevant customer proposals
  • Ensure customer business and technical requirements are met
  • Provide technical expertise to sales teams and customers through presentations and product or solution demonstrations
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of solution domains, products, services, solutions, and customer environments
  • Review proposals and manage internal stakeholder and customer expectations
  • Quantify business problems and position business value
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of proposed solutions
  • Provide input to global business units on IT trends, requirements, gaps, and unmet needs
  • Translate outcome-based solutions into functional designs and scalable technical architectures
  • Communicate solution value propositions to customers
  • Track emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Contribute to industry development through conferences, presentations, demonstrations, booth support, and industry events
  • Gather and apply competitive intelligence
  • Drive account business planning
  • Participate in deep-dive discussions and present technical transformation strategies
  • Produce comparative analyses of alternative approaches
  • Develop, configure, and right-size workload solutions
  • Leverage partner products and services to optimize solutions
  • Transfer knowledge to external partners
  • Build account pipeline through enhancements, up-selling, and cross-selling opportunities
  • Monitor account pipelines and nurture deals from opportunity to close
  • Participate in sales forecast meetings
  • Document sales-cycle activities and share best practices
  • Build relationships with customer executives
  • Share knowledge with peers and mentor junior team members

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • US citizenship required
  • 50%+ travel required
  • 6+ years working with or supporting the Federal Sector in DOD
  • 6+ years of technical IT experience focused on technical consulting and solution selling
  • Hands-on technical IT experience in system and network administration, data center operations, and enterprise infrastructure management
  • Ability to apply technical expertise to architect, configure, and demonstrate solutions meeting DoD mission requirements
  • Enterprise architecture frameworks and project management methodologies and certifications helpful but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to balance technical rigor with practical implementation
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and motivated by contributing to organizational success
  • First-level university technical degree or equivalent technical qualifications
  • Advanced degree in technology preferred
  • California candidates must be within 2 hours driving distance of San Diego
  • Advanced experience leading solution configurations and creating demos and proofs-of-concept
  • Advanced understanding of company products, software, services, solution domains, and ecosystem combinations
  • Advanced ability to translate aaS, ecosystems, solutions, and workloads into customer outcomes
  • Advanced understanding of aaS business model variations
  • Advanced cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in English and applicable local languages as needed
  • Advanced discussion and persuasion skills
  • Advanced business and financial acumen, including sales cycles, pipeline growth, reporting, business strategy, TCO/ROI concepts, and financial models
  • Advanced consultative/value selling skills, including whiteboarding, objection handling, and closing
  • Advanced company business knowledge, technical tools, and CRM systems
  • Advanced resource management skills
  • Hands-on experience with relevant products, solutions, tools, or services
  • Ability to design demonstration and walkthrough playbooks
  • Ability to deliver live demonstrations and walkthroughs
  • Advanced project and time management knowledge or experience

  • Advanced knowledge of partner offerings and go-to-market strategy
