About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and facilitate in-depth technical discussions with clients and account teams
- Assess business needs and evaluate existing customer environments
- Develop and present strategic technology recommendations
- Articulate solution value propositions and key differentiators
- Create high-level solution designs aligning HPE technologies with customer requirements
- Orchestrate cross-functional account team collaboration and partner engagement
- Contribute technical insight to Account Business Planning
- Monitor account pipelines and nurture opportunities through closure
- Identify growth potential within existing customer bases
- Engage with professional communities and attend key industry events
- Advance knowledge of core and adjacent technologies
- Mentor peers, account managers, and partners as a subject matter expert
- Bridge customers and global business units by providing feedback on requirements, trends, gaps, and unmet needs
- Monitor the competitive landscape, emerging players, and disruptive start-ups
- Engage C-suite executives, VPs, and line-of-business leaders to drive strategic technical alignment
- Design comprehensive IT solutions spanning hardware, software, services, as-a-service offerings, and third-party technologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Remote/Teleworker role, primarily working from home
- Must live in Northern Virginia, the Washington D.C. area, or Maryland
- TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph required at time of hire
- US citizenship required
- 8+ years of technical experience in Enterprise IT focused on technical consulting and solution selling
- 5+ years working with AI, cloud software, open source, containers, virtualization, system management, and hardware including server, storage, and networking
- Experience architecting complex IT solutions delivering measurable business outcomes
- Experience with cloud-based architectures preferred
- Enterprise IT architecture frameworks and project management methodologies and certifications helpful but not required
- 2+ relevant industry-standard technology certifications or equivalent experience highly preferred
- Technical customer sales experience and related certifications preferred, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, and/or Google Cloud Architect
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Science/Analytics, or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Familiarity with HPE’s solution portfolio preferred
- Federal procurement knowledge preferred
- Experience leading solution configurations and end-to-end architecture design
- Technical proficiency across enterprise-level architecture solutions, high-performance computing, hybrid cloud architectures, and data center technologies
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-value propositions
- Ability to deliver live product demonstrations and technical walkthroughs
- Proficiency in white-boarding, objection handling, and formal presentations
- Ability to identify technical growth opportunities and support account expansion
- Knowledge of Account Business Planning
- Ability to orchestrate cross-functional collaboration across company and partner resources
- Track record of providing technical mentorship and promoting knowledge sharing
