About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for storage and related products
  • Drive storage sales in assigned federal territory, industry, or accounts
  • Identify and pursue new solution opportunities and business
  • Create and manage the storage sales pipeline
  • Capture leads outside specialization and ensure assignment and follow-up
  • Collaborate with account pursuit teams, HPE teams, account managers, Presales, channel partners, and stakeholders
  • Build sales readiness through storage knowledge transfer
  • Contribute to quota objectives and product-line direction
  • Maintain pipeline hygiene, internal sales tools, and account plans
  • Assess technical and business solution feasibility and qualify opportunities
  • Negotiate and drive profitable deals through successful closure
  • Establish consultative relationships with mid-to-large-account clients up to C-level
  • Position HPE products and services using competitor and industry knowledge
  • Forge channel relationships, enable key technologies, and co-sell to end users
  • Lead and coordinate storage marketing campaigns
  • Act as a trusted storage solutions consultant
  • Articulate HPE strategy and portfolio to partners and customers
  • Explain ROI and TCO advantages of HPE offerings
  • Cultivate customer relationships for account retention and growth
  • Support deal closure with internal stakeholders and channel partners
  • Orchestrate regional pursuit resources and coordinate external partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of sales experience
  • 5+ years of sales experience to the Federal Government
  • Experience working with Federal System Integrators
  • US citizenship required
  • 2+ years of experience in storage sales
  • Demonstrated achievement of progressively higher quota
  • Experience interfacing with diverse business customers at all levels
  • Extensive vertical industry knowledge
  • University or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Expertise in storage, cloud, solution, or service offerings and competitor offerings
  • Knowledge of digital and modern methods to connect and sell
  • Deep expertise in end-to-end data solutions leveraging HPE storage portfolio and partner ecosystem
  • Advanced financial acumen
  • Understanding of IT, applications, CIO budgets, objectives, measures, and metrics
  • Understanding and application of program/project management methods and processes
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate, motivate, coach, and support sales teams
