About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the overall account lead and single point of contact for large named accounts
  • Understand client business and IT challenges and drive client value while maximizing revenue and margin
  • Develop account plans and long-term sales pipelines to increase market share
  • Manage larger deals, opportunities, and value or volume portfolios
  • Develop future business plans and determine methods for achieving them
  • Work with external partners and presales and inside sales resources
  • Build relationships with IT and business executives, including C-level executives
  • Apply consultative-selling techniques to advance profitable revenue opportunities
  • Advocate for client needs during solution sales and delivery troubleshooting
  • Develop business plans with customers
  • Analyze industry and competitive research to support client dialogue
  • Manage account forecasts, planning, reporting, pipeline activity, quotas, and margins
  • Enter and update opportunities weekly in the pipeline tool
  • Build a customer reference list
  • Implement margin recovery strategies
  • Interface with international accounts alongside global and local teams
  • Match customer requirements to HPE capabilities and select the appropriate supply chain

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University or Bachelor's degree
  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred
  • Typically 12+ years of relevant selling experience
  • 5 years’ commercial account management experience
  • Highly experienced in product specialty
  • Experience in a related industry
  • Expertise in complex, large-deal end-to-end sales processes
  • Strong customer management and executive relationship-building skills
  • Advanced sales negotiation and consultative-selling skills
  • Knowledge of HPE’s breadth of solutions
  • Ability to understand customer business issues and translate them into company solutions
  • Financial-selling, competitive-selling, partner-management, presentation, and time-management skills
