About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design portions of mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling
- Develop and implement parameters and test plans for existing designs
- Validate tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, and reliability
- Develop fan curves and measure system power and acoustics
- Collaborate with internal and outsourced development partners on mechanical and thermal design and development
- Participate in project teams to develop reliable, cost-effective, high-quality solutions for low- to moderately-complex products
- Conduct feasibility, design margin, validation, and empirical testing
- Evaluate reliability of materials, properties, designs, and production techniques
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Typically 2–4 years of experience
- Knowledge of Creo or other 3D CAD software
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience designing sheet metal and plastic parts and associated production tooling and processes
- Experience using CFD and thermal mockups to validate thermal solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mastery in English and local language
- Ability to communicate design proposals and negotiate options
