Key responsibilities & impact

Implement critical functionality and capabilities in switch and NIC Linux platforms
Develop drivers for configuration, control, and monitoring of custom ASICs
Create APIs to interface with higher layers
Develop and implement requirements with high performance, resiliency, and scalability as primary considerations
Contribute learning to the larger community through written guidance and presentations
Contribute to the broader HPE/Cray R&D leadership community
Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software subsystems
Analyze designs and determine coding, programming, and integration activities
Write and execute testing plans, protocols, and documentation
Identify, debug, and resolve code and integration issues
Lead project teams of software systems engineers and development partners
Collaborate with management and development partners on software design status, project progress, and issue resolution
Represent the software systems engineering team on complex development projects
Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
Typically 6–8 years of experience
Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience designing software systems running on multiple platform types
Knowledge of software systems testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Mastery in English and local language
Ability to communicate product architectures and design proposals and negotiate options at management levels
