About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and drive the end-to-end strategy for HPE’s Storage as a Service offering
Establish the product vision, value proposition, target customer outcomes, service levels, business model, MVP, roadmap, and path to market
Lead development of an outcomes-based storage consumption model
Drive the full product lifecycle across strategy, business definition, product management, technical requirements, execution, market introduction, and evolution
Define the initial MVP and launch roadmap
Partner with storage product management and engineering teams to translate service requirements into platform capabilities
Work with GreenLake and other HPE teams on cloud management, metering, billing, financing, operational support, and service delivery
Drive alignment across engineering, marketing, sales, go-to-market, customer and partner engagement, services, operations, customer success, and financial services
Build and lead a focused product organization
Provide leadership to program management and engineering resources supporting the roadmap
Establish operational capabilities for capacity forecasting, performance optimization, customer monitoring, hardware lifecycle management, customer success, and site reliability engineering
Build relationships with customers, partners, and field organizations
Monitor competitive and market developments across enterprise storage, public cloud, and consumption-based infrastructure services
Create the organizational and operating foundation for a scalable Storage as a Service business

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field
15+ years of experience in product management with progressive leadership across Storage and aaS portfolio domains
Significant product management leadership experience, ideally with end-to-end ownership
Experience developing and bringing new technology products, services, or business models to market
Strong experience in enterprise storage, cloud, as-a-service, consumption-based infrastructure, or related technology markets
Experience spanning storage and cloud/as-a-service models preferred
Experience with broad product or business ownership, including strategy, engineering engagement, go-to-market, customer engagement, and operational execution
Demonstrated leadership of product teams and cross-functional organizations in a highly matrixed environment
Deep understanding of the enterprise storage industry, customers, technology landscape, and competitive environment
Strong knowledge of cloud and as-a-service business and technology models, including consumption-based services, SLA/SLO-driven offerings, capacity management, performance optimization, metering, billing, and customer lifecycle considerations
Strong technical foundation and ability to work deeply with engineering teams on enterprise infrastructure and storage architecture
Strong business and financial acumen
Ability to build and launch new offerings from the ground up in an incubation environment
Outstanding cross-functional leadership and influencing skills
Agile and adaptable leadership style
Strong customer orientation and ability to translate customer outcomes into differentiated capabilities
Ability to lead a small entrepreneurial team while influencing broader enterprise resources
MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
