About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support MX and Routing Director platforms in a large-scale service provider environment
Assist customers with network deployment planning
Develop implementation plans
Perform solution testing
Collaborate with resident engineers, internal teams, and customers
Act as the customer's primary point of contact for operational issues
Engage Juniper Technical Assistance Centers for resolutions
Open cases, provide requested data, perform advanced troubleshooting, and document information
Support technology briefings and training sessions
Travel to customer locations approximately 25% of the time

Requirements

What you’ll need

US Citizenship required
Active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance required
Minimum 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
Engineering design, operational, and support experience in large-scale ISP environments
Deep understanding of routing and switching technologies, including EVPN, Multicast, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, Pseudowires, L2VPN, L3VPN, MPLS TE, routing policies, GRE, and VXLAN
Experience supporting Juniper MX and Routing Director platforms
Mastery of WAN transport topologies and methodologies
Ability to troubleshoot equipment and network problems and manage JTAC cases through resolution
Ability to communicate case status updates and deliver root cause analysis
Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline desired, or equivalent work experience
Juniper and/or other vendor certifications are a strong plus
Automation and DevOps knowledge is a plus
Knowledge of XML API, NETCONF, REST API, gRPC, Python, PyEZ, ncclient, Ansible, Jinja2, SLAX, and automation scripts
