About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support MX and Routing Director platforms in a large-scale service provider environment
  • Assist customers with planning network deployments
  • Develop implementation plans
  • Perform testing of network solutions
  • Collaborate with resident engineers, internal teams, and customers
  • Develop deep product knowledge
  • Act as the customer’s primary point of contact for operational issues
  • Engage Juniper Technical Assistance Centers for resolutions
  • Open cases, provide requested data, troubleshoot advanced issues, and document information
  • Prioritize work to meet customer and account team goals
  • Resolve hardware and software issues and implement solutions
  • Support formal and informal technology briefings and training sessions
  • Travel to customer locations as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • US Citizenship required
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance required
  • Minimum 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline desired, or equivalent work experience
  • Engineering design, operational, and support experience in a large-scale ISP environment
  • Deep understanding of routing and switching technologies including EVPN, Multicast, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, Pseudowires, L2VPN, L3VPN, MPLS TE, routing policies, GRE, and VXLAN
  • Experience supporting Juniper MX and Routing Director platforms
  • Engineering design/architecture, operational, and support experience in a medium to large-scale data center network
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and network problems and manage JTAC cases through resolution
  • Experience communicating case status updates and delivering root cause analysis
  • Ability to support technology briefings and training sessions
  • Juniper or other vendor certifications are a plus
  • Automation and DevOps knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of XML API, NETCONF, REST API, gRPC, Python, RPCs, PyEZ, ncclient, Ansible, Playbooks, Jinja2, Python, SLAX, and SNMP scripts
