About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide pre-sales technical consultation in the design, engineering, sale, and implementation of sophisticated products, applications, and solutions
Partner with sales teams, strategic partners, and industry partners to assess product applications and provide optimum systems solutions
Respond to customer proposals, including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, and create viable proposals that grow Juniper’s business
Develop and consult on architecture designs, engineering bills of materials, and implementation specifications for next-generation networks and solutions
Engage and influence customer technology strategies through technical sales presentations, product demonstrations, proof-of-concept, and trial engagements
Build and maintain professional relationships with customer IT decision-makers and industry partners
Deliver training and support to industry partners and customer engineers
Continuously learn and stay ahead of industry, competitive solutions, products, and services
Apply the latest technological innovations to address customer challenges

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical/pre-sales role as a Sales or Systems Engineer
Bachelor's and/or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, and or related field or equivalent experience
Extensive experience designing, engineering, or consulting on WAN, Data Center, Security, and Cloud technology solutions
Extensive experience implementing and operating large-scale WAN backbone networks
Extensive experience and depth of knowledge around the Juniper product line, competitors’ products, solutions, and vertical market use cases
Hands-on expertise with routing, switching, and security technologies from a pre-sales, operational, or engineering perspective
Extensive customer-facing sales experience, including presenting, whiteboarding, and executive/C-level engagements
Deep understanding of routing protocols, including IGPs, EGPs, and Layer-2/3 VPNs
Extensive datacenter network design experience with EVPN/VXLAN, Clos architectures, and underlay fabric
Extensive MPLS and WAN network design experience, including LDP, RSVP, SR-TE, and SRv6
Network security experience with NGFW, UTM, DDoS, IPSec, MACSec, and SIEM
Hands-on experience with Juniper or other vendors’ solutions
Must be willing and able to travel as required
DevOps automation experience using Python, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, YANG, JSON, and Netconf is desired
Experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure is desired
JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE, or other industry certification is desired
