About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead pre-sales technical engagements, including solution design, architecture, and positioning of networking and security solutions
Partner with sales teams, customers, and ecosystem partners to align technical strategies with business outcomes
Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements
Develop and respond to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs
Build and maintain relationships with customer technical stakeholders and decision-makers
Provide enablement, training, and technical guidance to partners and customer engineering teams
Stay current on industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies
Translate business needs into differentiated technical solutions for HPE Networking customers

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical pre-sales role (Sales Engineer / Systems Engineer)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
Strong hands-on experience with Juniper networking solutions across routing, switching, and/or security domains
Deep expertise in enterprise networking, including IGPs, BGP, Layer 2/3 VPNs, MPLS, traffic engineering, EVPN/VXLAN, fabric architectures, NGFW, IPSec, and DDoS protection
Experience designing and consulting on network architectures, including bills of materials and implementation strategies
Experience implementing enterprise-scale campus, branch, and/or data center networks
Strong customer-facing experience, including technical presentations, whiteboarding, and executive-level engagement
Experience supporting pre-sales cycles, including solution positioning, proposal development, and competitive differentiation
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and apply them in customer environments
Ability to influence technical and business stakeholders
Candidates must reside near a major U.S. airport on either coast to support customer travel
Preferred: Experience with Juniper ecosystem tools such as Paragon, Mist, and Apstra
Preferred: Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP
Preferred: Experience with Python or Ansible in network environments
Preferred: Familiarity with DevOps or infrastructure-as-code concepts, including YANG and Netconf
Preferred: Experience with virtualization, containerization, or NFV
Preferred: Industry certifications such as JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, or CCIE
