About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Check raw materials for contamination using color perception, and weigh and mix raw materials according to formulations and instructions
  • Inspect scales for accuracy and operate equipment according to standard procedures
  • Visually check mixing consistency of each batch and report inconsistencies, unusual conditions, process changes, or problems to the Production Supervisor
  • Load raw materials and oil into the mixer and mix according to schedule and work instructions
  • Monitor mixing conditions and adjust bulk oil setup as needed
  • Clean mixer chambers between batches and remove material buildup during changeovers
  • Maintain clean mill and mill pan areas after every batch to prevent contamination
  • Maintain efficient machine flow to minimize production loss
  • Report problems to supervision and participate in solutions
  • Verify that work areas and equipment are safe before proceeding
  • Keep equipment in safe operating condition and report problems to Maintenance
  • Clean tools, maintain tool boards, and keep the workstation and surrounding area organized
  • Participate in training new Associates as directed by the Supervisor
  • Perform other projects or tasks assigned by Management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent is desired. Successful completion of Competency Assessment may be considered in lieu of education.
  • One (1) year manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Good computer/systems skills, including MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds regularly
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
  • Ability to visually identify color differences in finished goods and check materials for contaminants or inconsistencies
  • Must follow facility safety rules and procedures and wear required PPE
  • Must adhere to Lock-out/Tag-out procedures when equipment is down for repair or cleaning
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good cooperation and collaboration skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • High degree of concentration and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events through organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
