About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Check raw materials for contamination using color perception, and weigh and mix materials according to formulations and instructions.
- Inspect scales for accuracy and operate equipment according to standard procedures.
- Visually check batch mixing consistency and report inconsistencies, unusual conditions, process changes, or problems to the Production Supervisor.
- Load raw materials and oil into the mixer and mix according to schedule and work instructions.
- Monitor mixing conditions and adjust bulk oil setup as needed.
- Clean the mixer chamber between batches and ensure the mixer is clean during material changeovers.
- Maintain the mill and mill pan area after every batch to prevent contamination.
- Maintain efficient machine flow to minimize production loss.
- Report problems to supervision and participate in solutions.
- Verify that work areas and equipment are safe before proceeding.
- Check safety equipment, follow facility safety rules and procedures, and wear required PPE.
- Follow Lock-out/Tag-out procedures during equipment repair or cleaning.
- Clean tools, maintain tool boards, and keep the workstation and surrounding area organized.
- Keep equipment in safe operating condition and report problems to Maintenance.
- Participate in training new Associates as directed by the Supervisor.
- Perform other projects or tasks assigned by Management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma or equivalent is desired.
- Successful completion of Competency Assessment may be considered in lieu of education.
- One (1) year manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Good computer/systems skills, including MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds regularly as part of daily production activities.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
- Ability to visually identify color differences in finished goods and check material for contaminants or inconsistencies.
- Good cooperation and collaboration skills.
- Good organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- High degree of concentration, attention to detail, high energy, and self-motivation.
- Ability to manage demands and frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events through organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact well with all personality types.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus.
