About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support end-to-end onboarding from offer acceptance through the first 90 days
- Serve as a contact for incoming employees and communicate next steps, timelines, and expectations in English and Spanish
- Send pre-boarding welcome packets, first-day logistics, and new-hire information
- Book travel for new hires traveling or relocating to orientation and job sites
- Confirm Day 1 readiness, including equipment, system access, PPE, workspace, and site requirements
- Coordinate with IT, Safety, Payroll, and Operations to provision accounts, credentials, badges, and tools
- Assist with new-hire orientation sessions, company overviews, policy walkthroughs, and benefits information
- Process E-Verify, I-9 verification, background checks, and drug testing
- Maintain Paycom HRIS records, personnel files, and personnel action forms
- Track onboarding milestones and follow up with stakeholders to close gaps
- Improve onboarding checklists, workflows, and resources
- Provide front-line HR support and direct employee inquiries
- Assist with offboarding, equipment returns, and system deactivation
- Coordinate background checks, drug testing, and site badging with vendors
- Perform other HR projects and duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- HRIS experience required; Paycom preferred
- 3+ years of HR, onboarding, or employee experience coordination preferred
- HR coursework or certification is a plus
- Construction industry experience is a plus
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple new hires and onboarding timelines
- High attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to coordinate travel logistics and vendor communications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems
- Ability to work independently and in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime, and night or weekend shifts as needed
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform required office mobility and physical tasks
