About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides administrative and technical support for the Contract and Pricing department
- Works with Supply and Marketing groups to prepare contracts and set up customers to help the Commercial group sell products at the highest possible netbacks
- Manages customer setups with credit, tax, accounting, and other cross-functional stakeholders
- Ensures company contracts and prices are accurate, complete, and delivered on time
- Coordinates with scheduling, billing, and accounting to ensure prompt and accurate invoices
- Identifies potential problems and implements solutions to prevent sales issues and ensure a positive customer experience
- Analyzes customer issues and proposes and implements timely solutions using contract and pricing policies and procedures
- Prepares back-office setups to keep customers supplied in response to market opportunities or refinery issues
- Develops expertise in SAP modules and terminal and pricing software, including Deal Capture, DTN TABS, Atlas, and Customer Portal
- Assists with marketing reports regarding upcoming contract expiration dates
- Develops and documents policies and procedures and identifies process improvement opportunities
- Maintains effective relationships with internal counterparts and external customers
- Provides backup support, training, and direction to other contracts and pricing staff
- Performs additional assignments as directed by the manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of eight years related work experience required
- A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Advanced clerical and data entry skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products including MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel
- Strong working knowledge with the mechanics of a contract and pricing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal communication
- Basic understanding of computer use
- Intermediate reading and writing skills
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations
- Knowledge of trade locations and SAP navigation
- Advanced ability to implement new systems and procedures and evaluate their effectiveness
- Responsible for leading or supervising the work of others
- Preferred: Four years in the petroleum industry
- Preferred: A Bachelor's degree in business or in a technical discipline
