About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, test, and maintain features across C#/.NET back end, TypeScript/Angular front end, and databases
- Lead technical work within the team's area and write design documents
- Build and maintain healthcare data integrations using HL7, FHIR, and X12 EDI
- Modernize legacy functionality and migrate screens and functions to new services and front end
- Write clear, tested code and review other engineers' code
- Apply data modeling techniques and improve code and database query performance
- Apply secure coding practices, protect PHI, follow HIPAA requirements, and meet WCAG guidelines
- Investigate and resolve production defects and incidents
- Use AI coding tools responsibly and review AI-generated code
- Mentor less experienced engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Quality Assurance, and engineers
- Follow engineering standards and propose improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Travel up to 10%, including overnight travel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- 6 or more years of professional software engineering experience building and supporting production applications
- 3 or more years of experience building healthcare software, including working with PHI under HIPAA
- Strong production experience with C# and the .NET platform, including building REST APIs
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern framework such as Angular
- Experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL, including data modeling, writing queries, and improving query performance
- Working experience with AWS or a similar cloud platform
- Experience with Git, automated testing, code review, and CI/CD tools
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and handling sensitive data
- Clear written and spoken communication
- Ability to plan and organize own work, work with several teams, and adapt when priorities change
- Must be located within the EST or CST time zones within the US
